I wouldn't share this with too many people but I know I have a lot of animal lovers among my bloggy friends. My poor assistant hurt her leg last week. We're not sure what happened but last Sunday she was limping pretty badly. Being a large dog and prone to strains I didn't think too much of it at first .... especially when she seemed to be getting better on Tuesday. But soon she was not putting any weight on her back leg again. She has been very lethargic all weekend and today we made an appointment for her at the vet for tomorrow afternoon.
When someone just can't communicate how they feel I'm left feeling so helpless. I hope she understands that we are taking care of her and will not let her be in pain much longer.
Someone looks pretty sad. Hope your assistant gets a speedy diagnosis and treatment. It is frustrating that they can't communicate to tell us what hurts and where. Our dog (golden retriever) tore the ACL on her back leg a year ago. The surgery was intense (and expensive) but she recovered to her pre-injury activity level (she is a murderess of not a few squirrels, I am ashamed to say). On another note, I can't help admiring your KJR wonky star quilt. I just bought 21 FQs of KJR and am pondering what to make with it - yours looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI too hope it's not the torn ACL, one of our labs had that and it was major surgery, hope your girl feels better soon! I love your wonky stars too, that quilt turned out great!!
ReplyDeleteBy the looks of that photo I'm quite sure she knows you care and are doing your best to make her feel better. She's a very lucky girl to have those lovely quilts around her. Hope she feels better soon!
ReplyDeleteRottie's are the best doggies! Sorry she is down, but she has a good doggy mama to take care of her. She's a lucky girl!

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about Jada. I hope she is back to herself soon. When Ali had a blockage she got really sad too and just pouted. I hope your sweetheart feels better soon. Ali and Rusty send lots of dogie kisses.
ReplyDeleteHope she heals soon! My dog had a UTI and I was so terrified for him:(
ReplyDeleteSeeing this picture, I'm sure she knows how you feel. I hope she is back on her feet soon!
ReplyDeleteaww. i hope your girl feels better asap!! with two kitties who have recently needed medical attention, i can feel your pain - as a pet momma. <3 hugs headed you & your doggie's way!!
ReplyDeleteAw - poor girl! I hope she feels better!
ReplyDeleteAwwww, poor puppy. : ( I hope she feels better soon. She looks like she's pretty comfy in the picture, at least. I'm sure she knows you're worried and you're doing your best. They pick up on that stuff.
ReplyDeleteThe assistant looks well cared for! Nothing but the best obviously :-) Hope the vets finds the problem and gets her better soon!
ReplyDeleteI hope Jada is feeling better soon. Rotties are notorious for hiding thier pains until they become too much to bear, silly cuddle bugs. I love the breed and yours looks very well cared for and loved.
ReplyDeleteSimon (my little lab mix) and I send Jada our best! We'll keep our fingers and paws crossed that she's doing better soon. I bet the pile of snuggly quilts are helping already!
ReplyDeletePoor girl!! I hope it is something minor and she's back to her running around soon. I'll keep her in my thoughts. It is so tough when they don't feel well.
ReplyDeleteShe's such a beautiful dog...and obviously well loved. That's one lucky pooch!
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, assistant! Though you do look quite cute cuddled up like that...
