Oh dear.
Look what watching marathons of
Mad Men while sewing will get you. I innocently went on line the other night to do some Christmas shopping and somehow stumbled onto the
Fabric Shack site. Oops! Today some Alexander Henry Merry Modern fabric just appeared in my mailbox with a credit card slip.
I was planning on NOT getting into a sewing frenzy with a deadline this December but now I've just GOT to make something with these fabrics. And before my Mad Men craze is over too. Hmmmm.... I'm thinking pillows ..... any other ideas?? I need to redeem myself by producing something supercool.

Along with getting this fabulous fabric in the mail today I also received two sweet ornaments from a Flickr ornament swap. December mail is
soooo much nicer than January mail :)
I love your "Mad Men" fabric and can't wait to see what you do with it.
ReplyDeleteMy ideas may not be your bag, but it may give you better ones: oven mitts. apron. something to do with liquor.
Off to watch the Office and then a few episodes of MadMen myself. :)
Alexander Henry is soooo awesome isn't he?! I have never seen Mad Men8) I like to watch old movies which reminds me I have a Netflix sitting on my kitchen counter waiting for me to tear it open;)
ReplyDeleteLove the gnome--great work on it!!
Just love this retro christmas fabric! There are probably lots of things you could make with it...maybe an apron for Xmas day and matching kitchen mitts or a tree skirt or a simple small quilt to drap over the sofa. Looking foward to seeing what you do do with it now.
ReplyDeletePillows sound great but what about a retro looking apron to wear while you're making holiday goodies? Have fun!
ReplyDeleteI've had my eye on that retro Christmas fabric for weeks! I just love it! Can't wait to see what you do with it.
ReplyDeleteThe fabric is great!! I think pillows are a good idea or a cute retro looking apron. Or even a fabric gift bag...although I'd be hard pressed to let it leave my house.
ReplyDeleteFunny - I'm headed to Fabric Shack tomorrow for the same thing!! Doing a giveaway on my blog next week and I need some for FQ bundles and some for myself. I freaking love this fabric! We had a coaster swap last month in our modern quilt guild and someone used this fabric - so dang cute!
ReplyDeleteHoly Crap, I LOVE those fabrics!!! They are so fantastic how could you possible cut them?!
ReplyDeleteI know that anytime I see that gold label on the top of a bolt of fabric, I'm gonna love it! I think that apron idea is pretty spot on - but with lots of structured pleats. It would also make a super-cool holiday curtain on a rolling bar cart.
ReplyDeletewow...............Beautiful
ReplyDeleteFun! I love mad men inspired anything, but especially fabric.
ReplyDeleteI love that fabric, but secretly I love the little Rien Poortvliet gnome even more! Ah, memories!
