I just ordered a couple kona solids in beautiful fall colors and last night I sat down and started making some stars. I love making stars. They have so much personality and each one is special and different from the next one. They make me happy when I see them emerge from the fabric. I made a big one and a tiny one last night and I can't wait to make a some mediums and and teeny tiny one too. I can't go wrong just making stars. I'm not even sure what my final outcome will be yet but I'm sure it will be a Christmas present for somebody special.
Look at that cute little guy in the middle |
I cringe even posting these pictures with the giant shadows and all but decided I'm not getting a better picture in the near future. I contemplated getting my son out of bed to hold up a lamp but decided against it. The boys think I'm crazy enough as it is and they love to mock my blawwwwwg. Sooooo .... this is my quilt top in it's shadowy glory. She is still hanging on the china cabinet (I took this last night) and she may be there for a while. I like looking at her there.
Shells from my vacation. That seems like so long ago! |
I've been wanting to practice my quilting so I made a little patchwork runner to sit on my coffee table. I love to make the house look cozy this time of year.
Why do those boys pick on our blogs---my hubby calls it Quilt Porn!! Crazy boys! They may be secretly jealous of our SKILLZ!! Anywho love the red and white top--you must be really proud of it:D
ReplyDeletePretty soon I am going to try some wonky stars --yes I do believe I will!
I used to be a one project at a time girl as well, but I have given up. Sometimes it is a good distraction to have multiple projects. Usually, though, there is one that I just can't wait to finish. Love your Fall runner and, of course, your stars and sampler quilt are amazing! Will you quilt the sampler by machine or hand? It is lovely.
ReplyDeleteHey Molly, I love your sampler quilt top - beautiful. Can't wait to see it all quilted! I'm the same way with house cleaning & quilting. I've got to have the house in order or I can't get a darn thing accomplished in the quilting area. Nice quilting on your table runner, it's charming and a good idea for practice!
ReplyDeleteThe sampler looks FANTASTIC! I am actually quilting mine right now - I've got 3 more rows to go and I'm done.
ReplyDeleteLoving the stars, too.
I am like you - only one project at once, but many in the head/notebook.
This looks lovely. You go Girl-!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the look of these stars! I too usually don't have more than one project on the go but for some reason have 2 quilt tops that need quilting at the moment. Can't work either if the house is a mess.
ReplyDeleteI love finishing up a project first too! Love your top! Great finish - have fun quilting it :) Love making those stars too...
ReplyDeleteLove that sampler - very old-fashioned meets modern. Can't wait to see how you quilt it!
ReplyDeleteNot only do I love your quilt-along quilt but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the table runner! I want one! Or learn how to make one! We need to get together to do some crafts!!!! I love you!
ReplyDeleteI love that quilt top! I think it's funny hearing others' view of blogs. My husband is jealous I have a blog and people READ it LOL. And my boys think it is my work (or so I tell them) I'm a finish one project at a time girl too. Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve next!
ReplyDeleteI think you may like wonky stars almost as much as I do! I can't wait to see how it turns out.
ReplyDeleteI love them too.
ReplyDeleteThose are amazing! The closest I ever came to quilting was buying a bunch of pretty napkins from William Sonoma with the idea of piecing them together for a huge quilt. Yeah. They're still napkins.
ReplyDeleteOh, how I wish I were a decent quilter! Your works is so beautiful!!!
