For example, if there was an elephant on the quilt top, a row of stitches would go around it. Then a different colour row around that, then another row in a different colour and so on. Love the colours and the fabrics used in your quilt. The quilting finishes it beautifully.Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05139897702169696195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4683357838302003571.post-7911651801097330452013-10-06T17:22:58.032-07:002013-10-06T17:22:58.032-07:00Yes, Sashiko is the white stitching on blue but I ...Yes, Sashiko is the white stitching on blue but I think the quilting world has embraced the word to describe a simple running stitch when it is used to quilt three layers together!:) I know when we show examples of that at work we use that word to refer to that style of stitching.

Girl....it looks MAValous!:) I have been handquilting my last few quilts just like that and I love it!:)doloreshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10144615752245606045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4683357838302003571.post-18103604227700506372013-10-06T16:13:01.664-07:002013-10-06T16:13:01.664-07:00Oh my it is beautiful! Something like Kantha? It's an Indian technique for stitching two fabrics together for a warm weather blanket.

ANYWAY, this is marvelous. Absolutely perfectly perfect. Love the stitching - it must have been so meditative! And you know my feelings about autumn. So I adore this, Molly! Enjoy using it in the coming cooler months. :)felicityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18175463051620709590noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4683357838302003571.post-64952752609270629182013-10-06T13:43:57.651-07:002013-10-06T13:43:57.651-07:00Its very pretty and i LOVE your quilting!
